
Riccardo Marchi
After the PhD in Contemporary History at ISCTE-IUL in 2008, he started the academic career at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon (ICS-UL) as pós-doctoral research fellow in Political Science. In this context he was visiting researcher at the Pablo de Olavide University of Seville (Spain, 2007) and at the University of California, Berkeley (United States, 2008).
He taught Research methods, Theory of Nationalism and Theory of Social Movements at the undergraduate and master’s degree courses at the European University (Portugal) and at the ISCTE-IUL. He is currently in charge as principal researcher for the project New Euro-American Radical Right and leads the Portuguese chapter of the international network Direitas, História e Memória.
His research fields are populism and right-wing radicalism (political thought, parties and movements) in contemporary Europe.
